Will this silly cold ever go away? Last weekend I did everything I planned to in spite of the cold. I think I’m paying for it now. The cough has started. My other concern is that my lawn needs mowed (I’m the one who does it), and I know that mowing will make this all worse.

This has come up again for me recently. I don’t know about you, but being acknowledged for the obvious (things I said I would do or was asked to do) means very little. A simple thank you is sufficient. I wouldn’t even use the word “acknowledgment”. However, the best acknowledgment you can receive is for the subtle things, perhaps even something you didn’t know about yourself. I’m still not good at accepting compliments, particularly when I know whatever I did could have been done better or with less complaining. Acknowledgment goes beyond compliments.

I don’t know what is going on with me. I’m pissed that I’m congested. I don’t like having to spend a good portion of my day resting in bed because I can’t do much else. I really don’t have time for this. I also can’t figure out if it’s allergies or not. Perhaps I’m having allergies on top of this illness. Whatever it is, it’s annoying. I have the upcoming weekend of less than optimal sleep and long hours.

So now I’m annoyed again. Last night I felt like I might be getting sick, but by the time I went to bed, it was gone. This morning I wake up with a sore throat and congested. I don’t have time to be sick. I have too much to do this weekend to even think about being sick.
