Where Are the Bees?
05/29/2007
As a service to my few readers, I’m posting a link to this most recent article on bees. (You may have to watch an ad to read.) If you haven’t heard about the bees dying off, then you have been living under a rock. Although I come across a few now and then who have heard nothing, but I can hardly see how that’s possible. I don’t know if you’ve even paid attention to the bees in your own backyard. I have quit a few flowering plants and nearly no bees. The bees that do come seem very docile. Hardly buzzing. Hardly moving.
I’m off to get a “tan” this morning after letting my do-it-yourself experiment fade. Then I’m back to do some work.

I didn’t watch/read the article you posted, but I watched a thing on CNN the other day that was talking about it and did some research of my own. One theory is that it’s the cell phone towers frequency that’s making the bees run away from the noise and the other is that Winnie the Pooh wannabe’s are killing them off by stealing all their honey. I’m not sure which is true, but I’m leaning toward the cartoon theory.
Secondly, Einstein once said that if bees were to go extinct that the world would end within four years. I believe that, and that’s a true statement.

I’ve heard the cell phone signal theory. I’ve also read a good debunking. The experts from this article were interested in looking into why the bees’ lifespan appears to be shortened (they are dying sooner than expected) and why the new bees aren’t very healthy.
Yes, Einstein is correct. Bee population worldwide is severely down. I don’t know what we can do to fix it, or if it’s fixable.

The Einstein quote is of questionable origin; and the cell phone thing it total BS.
I have a run down of a variety of theories here, if you’re interested, including Einstein info.
