I came across this article about a small town in Canada who became so fed up with the potholes on main road through their town that they created a calendar with several of them posing nude in the potholes. Yes, the potholes are that big.

The local government officials of Leader, Saskatchewan are the ones in the calendar. Right now their one and only ambulance can’t use the main road. Since they are a small town of only 1,000, they can’t afford to pave the road themselves. I guess it has been like this for years. Some of the potholes are a foot deep and many feet long. The calendar will raise money for the ambulance. I first thought they would use the money for the road.

I laughed until I cried when I read about this. Funny and creative. Of course, I was reminded of the movie based on a real story about the English women who created a “nude” calendar.

Since the dog ate the hummingbird feeder, I replaced it. I didn’t buy the same one, so the hummingbirds checked it out for a few hours before eating. After coming home from hula class, I saw that the new feeder was still hanging but had lost its base and all the sugar water. Somehow she unscrewed the base from the top. At least this time she didn’t chew it to bits. Poor birds. I’m trying to figure out if I can place the feeder high enough that she can’t reach. But I think that may be futile. She can jump. She can stand on her hind feet. When she stands up she’s taller than 6 feet.
