Well...thankfully your car wasn't vindictive enough to take you out with it when it decided to commit suicide.

Wow. What a nice "throwback" memory. Those Horizons were something else, right?

Mike & Gina: Thanks for your comments. I'm glad you enjoyed it.

I later heard that the Horizon was notorious for catching fire. But who knows. It probably had something to do with how it was fixed or not fixed just prior to catching fire.

It's a spooky thing to have happen.

Well, my car definitely had its problems. I don't think they were known to catch fire. I think a different car was known for that. I've seen and heard about cars, vans and trucks catching fire. No one seems to know exactly why. There's no way to tell unless you can put it out so there's something left to look at.

Ahhh... an incedible burning car tale....

Great stuff!

To think how such a little thing like a bumped or nicked fuel line could ignite such an event.

I got two brurning car tales. My brother's wife's rental car ignited on the freeway on an overpass coming into SF from LA...

The company tried to bill her for not returning the car...

A work buddy of mine did his own fuel pump repair work to save money on his old work truck. He didn't get a hose clamp tight and he learned the international symbol for "HELP! MY CAR IS ON FIRE!", which is essentially standing in the middle of the street and jumping up and down a bunch while pointing at it...

I had a car just like the one in the botton picture..(color matching) This was my first car, you see Dad had a 1976 Chevy 1/2 ton with a 350 LT1 motor into it... The day I got my license Dad traded the truck for that little TC3...You know I had brake trouble and the transmission would slip...But I loved that little car...$20.00 worth of gas would take me 400 KM 's and for $10.00 I could drive all week...Oh Good Old Days
